Carboot Soul by Nightmares on Wax is a classic album by now. The voice that made it work was Sarah Winton's. Tracks like Survival and Finer are etched in the minds of soul music lovers worldwide. But of course Sarah has recorded much more. A heavy new banger, with I-Lo and Helgeland 8-bit Squad, will be released on Dubbhism Deluxe.
Sarah is a professional musician (pianist, singer, composer, lyricist) who can switch from sight reading Liszt to improvised jazz, reggae or hiphop at the drop of a hat. She has toured and performed all over Europe as a singer and a pianist. In places as diverse as Jazz Cafe London, The Fridge, La Scala, and festivals ranging from Glastonbury to the Montreux Jazz Festival with Nightmares On Wax, as a support act for Macy Gray etc. etc.. Her contributions for others albums range from hiphop (De La Soul) to jazz, funk 'n soul to fado. Sarah is about continual musical creation. She did 3 solo albums (no 4 nearly ready) and 2 classical piano albums as yet unpublished.
