Club-Res interview & 3-hour monster jam

Last week the responsiple people of Radio Tonka's Club-Res invited Tony Dubshot for an interview about Dubbhism, xenharmonics, conspiracy theories etc. Kassen Oud and Rob Bothof (pic) host the show together, and they are famous for their extended live sets on air. So after an hour of talk and Dubbhism tracks, we ended up doing a massive 3-hour live set with special guest Lama Waaien.

Toronto's mayor Rob Ford confused the mainstream Canadian media with this patois style rant against his own police department. The Jamaica Gleaner helps out with a transcription: "They chase me around for five months, mon, (expletive). Leave me alone, mon. They got me five months, mon. They're trying to tell me we're counter-surveying you. He's here and I'm here … cho (expletives)!"

The piano speaks its mind

About a year ago, the Austrian composer Peter Ablinger first presented his 'updated' player piano. Ablinger designed a hi res mechanism which allows him to create vocoder-like effects. The sound quality is amazing, Conlon Nancarrow would have loved it.

Dub from the nineties?

I just realized that soon the nineteen nineties will be officially retro because the first decade of the 21st century is nearly done. So was there any good dub in the nineties? The Mad Professor kept the fire burning in the UK, especially the collaborations with L$P and Jah Shaka and the Black Liberation series, but to be honest i didn't buy a lot of dub albums back in the nineties. It was the times of lounge, triphop and six zillion boring remixes. Here are some albums that i liked, not all of them are dub but they sounded good to me anyway.
